The goal of this project was to redesign the website for Irving Subs, a family-owned sub shop in SF, to be more user-friendly and accessible for its customers. I collaborated with a fellow designer, Morgan Fong, to carry out research and produce the design for this website.
The website can be found here: Irving Subs
While my partner was carrying out competitive analysis and user research, I was in charge of interviewing the client and working with them to find what outcomes we wanted this website to achieve. After speaking with them and presenting them with some leading ideas, my partner and I collaborated to come up with a style tile that we could put into use while designing the website. Here's some of the process work that came out of it:
The type and colors used were inspired by the shops current brand identity, pulling aspects from their logo as well as from the aesthetics of the sunset district of San Francisco, where their first store is located.
This really was a great project to work on, as it's always great to work with local, family-owned businesses and see how they serve and connect with the community.
